Johnny “John” Max Baker, 69 of Indianapolis was called home to be with his Savior Jesus on May 18, 2015. He was born June 28th, 1945 to the late Woodrow and Mary Baker. John was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Brother, son and more. For vocation, he spent his life in sales, however his enjoyment in life came from spending time with his family, watching his children and grandchildren play sports and golfing or fishing whenever he could. As a coach, John mentored a number of athletes at Heritage Christian School where into his retirement he could often be found in the stands of girls’ basketball games or boy’s football games. As a proud Army veteran he supported the Wounded Warrior Project. Like his father, John was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. Most important to John was that others knew the love of Jesus Christ. John is survived by his wife Karen Baker, son John “Jib” Baker (wife Kendal), daughters Dawn Bruh (husband Adam), Tammy Moreno (husband Ray), and Eva Baker. His adored grandchildren include, David Baker, Zach Castro, Gabriel Copley, Savannah Baker, Kaysey Castro, Isaac Baker and Olivia Bruh; John’s two sisters and brother-in-laws Barb and Larry Lukens and Sandy and Garnald Dennis, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services celebrating the life of John will be held at: Horizon Christian Fellowship, 7702 Indian Lake Rd. Indianapolis, Indiana 46236, on Friday, May 22, 2015. Viewing from 11-1pm with the funeral following. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorsproject.org.
